I am a proud Beaumont resident of 12 years, parent, and community advocate. I’m committed to keeping our city safe, connected, and true to its small-town charm, while ensuring transparency, accountability, and open dialogue at Beaumont City Hall.
True Transparency
Having a strong focus on the details that assist residents to understand where their taxation dollars are being spent and how their local government is representing the common individual.
Accountability
Emphasizing core issues that concern our residents in order to find the best solutions. Exploring and seeking out new approaches to existing considerations within Beaumont. Transparency is nothing without accountability.
Open Dialogue
Listening and engaging with neighbours and community members in the effort to represent the best the interests of all.
My name is Kim Murray and I asking for your vote in this upcoming election.
Within the last few years, I have seen an increasing number of challenges in keeping our small city true to its roots. Density targets, overspending and irresponsible growth priorites have led to frustrated residents, myself included.
Its time to shift gears. Beaumont needs locally focused governance. As a mid-sized city, we are at once pulled to keep up with larger cities while still keeping our small town feel. I want to limit external guidelines that would have Beaumont conform to outside interests. Many initiatives brought to modern cities fail to consider the impractical realities of federal and/or global ideas on our residents and our small city. We need leadership that is not afraid to stand up for the values that brought this community together; family, hard work, and connection.
I intend to listen, learn and foster a city council that works together to represent its residents sensibly and responsibly. A council that will stay in line with values that make an exceptional city. I pledge to remain steadfast, even in the face of opposition, to the values that best represent our stakeholders.
Beaumont can no longer afford costly big city plans when there is no direct enhancement for our residents.
